Description
1/14/26 - This is a Mauser Model 1914 with an interesting history. The gun is mismatched and has a small Imperial German military proof on the top of the slide near the rear sight. This indicates it was issued to a German officer during WWI. There is also what appears to be some sort of police unit or inventory number on the left side of the frame. This indicates it was likely issued to the German police following WWI. The gun comes with two magazines - one is police arsenal-numbered but does not match the gun. The gun itself has retained somewhere between 85-90% of its original finish. The majority of the finish loss comes in the form of spotty wear on the right side of the gun and on the front strap. There are areas of spotty oxidation throughout, most noticeable on the right side of the gun and on the front strap. Very nice fire-bluing on the trigger. Fitted with a nice one-piece wood grip (lightly lacquered). Excellent bore with great rifling.
