SOLD - Mint Commercial Mauser Luger - Rare 1934 Oberndorf

Description

5/21/18 - This is among the nicest Lugers I've ever seen - a truly MINT and near 100% finish pistol.  All original and it is also a rare variation.   These are sometimes referred to as the 1934 Oberndorf Variation, and the serial number indicates that it is a FIRST variation in the V block, so perhaps the 244th gun out of Mauser factory.   The toggle is marked DWM and the firing proofs are Crown/N due to the fact that when DWM sold out to Mauser, they sent all of the parts from the Berlin factory over to the Obendorf, Mauser factory (around 1930). Then the first production lugers started coming out from Mauser in 1934.  My reading suggests that only about 3,200 of these commercial guns were manufactured (compare that to 10k K Dates).   It comes in .30 caliber luger.   Grips are sharp and near perfect, and the magazine and bore are also like new. Most small parts are not numbered but everything that is numbered is matching.  The numbering is very much like the DWM commercial guns.  So, for example, the sideplate is numbered on the bottom.    This is your chance to buy a very rare Luger in near perfect condition.   This variation is discussed on pages 272 - 286 of The Mauser Parabellum by Hallock and Joop.   If you don't have the book we can copy a page or so for you upon purchase.    Also discussed on pages 258 and 279 of Weimar Lugers, and this EXACT gun is photo'd on page 223 of Third Reich Lugers.
