Description
10/12/26 - This is a minty example of a Navy Arms Model 1875 Schofield revolver, made by A. Uberti in Italy and chambered in .44-40 with a 3 1/2 inch barrel. The original Schofield was a Smith & Wesson Model 3 fitted with a frame-mounted barrel latch designed by George W. Schofield, which allowed the top-break revolver to be opened with one hand, and it was adopted by the US Army in 1875. This is the short-barreled "Hideout" version of the reproduction. The gun has retained about 99% of its finish, with just a few tiny marks and scratches here and there. Blued with a case-colored hammer and barrel latch, and fitted with smooth walnut grips bearing reproduction "1877" inspector cartouches, with "US" on the butt. Mint bore. A handy, eye-catching take on a classic Old West top-break.
