Description

11/7/25 - This is a near-mint example of a Smith & Wesson Model 39-2. It has nearly all of its original finish with just a couple of very light surface marks on the left side of the slide. Terrific bore. Fitted with a set of excellent hand-checkered Walnut grips. The Smith & Wesson Model 39 is a semi-automatic pistol developed for the United States Army service pistol trials of 1954. After the Army abandoned its search for a new pistol, the Model 39 went on the civilian market in 1955 and was the first of Smith & Wesson's first generation semi-automatic pistols. Anodized aluminum frame with steel slide and curved backstrap. The 39-2 variant was produced from 1970-82 and added several improvements to improve feeding and increase reliability. Serial dates this one to about 1976-79. It comes with a period-correct box (re-numbered to match), owners manual, and three magazines.
