Description
3/4/26 - This is a near-mint example of a modern-production Uberti 1872 Open Top Late Model revolver, chambered in .44 Caliber. It comes its original matching box and shows almost no sign of wear or use. There are just a few very light surface scratches around the barrel wedge. Some intentional weathering on the frame. Fitted with mint smooth wood grips. Mint bore. From the Uberti website: "The 1872 Colt Open Top Revolvers were produced simultaneously with the Richards and Richards-Mason Conversion. Between February 1872 until June 1873 a total of 7 000 pieces were produced. This Colt revolver is not a conversion but was produced for metallic cartridges: the barrel cylinder and frame were made intentionally whereas parts such as the grip assembly and the internal components were adapted from the Navy `51 and the Army `60. Production stopped abruptly when the Single Action was introduced."
