Description
10/13/26 - This is a scarce Walther P88 Champion, Walther's competition version of the P88, chambered in 9mm and manufactured circa the mid-1990s. The Champion was made in limited numbers for sport shooting and was never actively imported into the United States, making it a very difficult Walther to find here. Even scarcer is this example, which comes as a cased set with its factory "P88 Sport" .22 LR conversion kit (Wechselsystem), complete with its own slide, barrel, and magazine, allowing the pistol to be shot in both 9mm and .22 LR. Complete sets like this, with both the pistol and conversion kit together in their original case, rarely turn up in the U.S. It comes with its original numbered hard case, two numbered test targets (one for the pistol and one for the conversion kit), manual and paperwork, tools, two 9mm magazines, one .22 caliber magazine, and two cleaning rods (one for 9mm, the other for .22 caliber). The gun has retained about 98% of its finish. There is almost no actual finish loss, just a few tiny marks and surface scratches here and there, and a few small dings on the rear sight. Fitted with minty wood grips. Minty bore.
