Description
2/26/26 - This is a near-mint example of a 1957 Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 29 revolver chambered in .44 Magnum. This revolver is a scarce 4-screw variation of the Pre-Model 29 that began shipping in 1957 until S&W changed it the "Model 29" in 1958 at serial number S179000. This Pre-Model 29 comes fitted with a 6 1/2" barrel, target sights, serrated front and back strap, as well as a serrated trigger. The top strap has a matte finish with 10 serrations to stop glare while aiming. This revolver has retained about 98% of its original finish with most wear existing as a turn line on the cylinder, and some hints of muzzle and high-edge wear. Comes fitted with period-correct wood, target-style grip plates which show not signs of cracks or chips. Mint bore. Mechanically sound with proper lock-up and timing. Comes with Smith & Wesson wooded case.
