Description
2/4/22 - This is a minty Ithaca 1911A1 that was sent to the Army Air Base in Kearney, Nebraska in 1944. This info can be found via factory records in Meadows' book on U.S. Military Automatic Pistols. It's all original and correct with just a little high edge wear around the muzzle and front edge of frame. Minty grips with no handling wear. Unmarked magazine. Correct barrel with strong rifling but the bore is dirty/potentially shows corrosion. It appears that the gun was used and bore wasn't cleaned after, but the residue appears not to be set-in pitting. A thorough cleaning would likely help. Rig is completed by a minty Boyt holster with '44 date.
