Description
3/23/26 - This is a nice example of a scarce Remington Rand Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1943. It's a 2nd variation example, falling in the proper serial range of 916xxx-1,040xxx. The gun has correct Inspection mark "FJA", "P" by the magazine release, and the crossed-cannons cartouche on the right side of the frame. The upper has been reparkerized (slide and barrel). Correct High Standard barrel. Fitted with period-correct reddish plastic grips. This gun has a wartime "G" marked magazine. The magazine was produced by the General Shaver Division of Remington Rand and is a scarcer variety of magazine. The bore has great rifling, but there is some light frost throughout. The gun comes with a period correct shoulder holster. The holster is in excellent condition with pliable leather, and is marked "BOYT-42-". The shoulder strap system was made by Enger-Kress in 1942 and is clearly maker marked. The straps are in excellent shape and are very pliable. There is some scratching of X's on the piece of leather that connects the straps.
