Description
5/10/23 - This is a very early example of a Mossberg Brownie, the first firearm Mossberg ever produced at their New Haven plant. It has four barrels in double action only, featuring a tip-forward cluster and compact profile. According to its original advertisement (an image is shown in the photos for this listing), it "shoots .22 caliber short, long, or long rifle ammunition." The gun is in very good condition for its age, with not much actual finish loss, but does have pitting throughout on the left side of the of the frame, trigger guard, and trigger. Mechanics are functional, the barrels lock up with no play. The front sight is a rounded blade and the rear sight is a shallow groove on the barrel latch. The rifling in the bores shows wear and there is minor pitting throughout. Grips are two-piece vertically serrated wood panels, which have light handling wear and the right panel has a large, repaired crack.Specifications
