Description
2/24/22 - This is an original example of a Nambu Type 26 revolver rig. The Type 26 or Model 26 "hammerless" revolver was the first modern revolver adopted by the Imperial Japanese Army. It was developed at the Koishikawa Arsenal and is named for its year of adoption in the Japanese dating system (the 26th year of the reign of the Meiji emperor, i.e., 1893). The revolver saw action in conflicts including the Russo-Japanese War, World War I and World War II. The gun itself shows thinning/bluing loss in several areas, and some pitting on the cylinder and either side of the muzzle. This particular gun comes with an excellent period-correct leather holster with strap, though the strap may be repro. The holster also has an ammo pouch full of deactivate vintage ammo, which makes a nice display. The gun has a minty bore, and excellent wood grips.Specifications
