7/31/26 - A very nice 1943 Walther P.38 magazine - the "P.38v" variation first introduced in February of 1943, when the unfolded magazine housing was enlarged by 2mm (the "v" is believed to stand for "verlangert," meaning enlarged). The left side bears the P.38v designation and the top of the spine carries the upside-down E/359 Walther proof. The floor plate is serialized "8849g" on the toe - a practice common on ac40 and ac41 variations but discontinued in early 1942, which leads me to believe the plate was replaced at some point with this earlier style. The finish is in very nice condition with very minimal loss: a few scratches on the front and spine, one small area at the top left corner of the right side, high-edge wear on the floor plate with light patina on the toe and bottom, and some loss on the right side of the plate's bottom. The follower spring has very smooth travel while maintaining tight pressure - mechanically sound and fully functional. A clean, correctly-marked wartime magazine for your 1943 P.38.
