Nice G43/K43 ZF4 Scope with Rare WaA214 Mount - Low Serial Number

9/24/26 - For sale is a ZF4 scope and rare WaA214 stamped mount. These scopes were designed primarily for use with G43 and K43 rifles, though they were also used on FG42s and are compatible with G41s. This scope is maker-marked "dow," indicating that it was manufactured by the Czech company Opticotechna, who manufactured 50,000 ZF4s. Next to the maker's mark, there is a green triangle which signifies that the grease used within this particular scope was optimized for a hot weather climate (Most commonly found with a blue triangle for cold climate). About 40,000 of these were produced for the Wehrmacht during WWII, and 10,000 were repurposed for the Czech military. The scope is marked "Gw ZF 4" and bears a very low serial number, "7034". The scope has a clear, yet yellowed reticle and the knobs function as intended. The finish on this scope shows some high-edge wear and some pitting on the exterior of the lens shrouds on each side of the scope, as well as on the body of the scope near the center adjustment knob. The ocular lens on this scope still has a fully intact rubber eye cover, which is not commonly seen on original examples. This particular scope is mounted on a rare Berlin-Lübecker Maschinenfabrik (BLM) mount, which bears the "WaA214" military inspection proof. The mount has been serialized "491" towards the back of the base. The bottom of the scope mounting arm shows some surface rust, but has some clean, level machining where the mount attaches to the firearm. Comes with a period-correct leather and wood lens cover. The leather strap near the objective lens cover is torn and separated from the rest of the protective leather cover.
