Description
5/23/26 - This is a nice example of a rare Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1942. It is a first-year of Mauser production, where only 19,000 of these were made, making it only slightly more common than the zero series or Nazi-marked svw 45's. This one has the proper "Eagle 135" military proofs but is not all matching. The barrel is mismatched to the gun but is only a few hundred numbers off (5457). The gun has retained about 90-91% of its characteristic dusty blue finish. There is muzzle wear, general high edge wear, wear along the left side of the barrel, some wear on the trigger bar, and thinning on the front strap. Fitted with blackish-brown bakelite grips. The grips seem to have some slight discoloration to them. Has a wartime Walther proofed magazine. The bore is bright with nice rifling. De-cocker is functional.
