08/27/2024 - For sale is a very nice Sharps New Model 1863 carbine chambered in .50-70. The rifle has been converted to centerfire. The receiver has worn itself to bare metal with some scattering of patina. The left side of the receiver sees more wear and parts of the Sharps patent stamp is worn away. The barrel retains a lot of its original bluing with scattering of oxidation and some finish loss. The stock and foreend are in good condition with a lot of handling marks but no cracks or breaks. The bore is bright for its age with great rifling, but there is pitting right at the crown/muzzle. The stock has a functioning patchbox on the right side.
