Description

8/10/26 - For sale is a nice example of a WWI-era M1902 Hospital Corps canvas pouch manufactured by Joseph J. Aronoff on their March 23rd, 1914 contract. Featuring 4 pockets of various sizes within the main compartment, these pouches were designed for organization so that U.S. Hospital Corps soldiers could act quickly to locate the items needed in high-pressure situations. The canvas on this bag is in good condition with no rips or tears, though there is some wear present on corners and high-edges on the pouch itself. These do not affect the functionality and the pouch operates as needed. The top of the lid has a faded red cross centered just above a U.S. plaque complete with a Caduceus, which was adopte4d by the U.S. Army Medical Corps in 1902. The underside of the lid bears the "Hospital Corps Pouch" contents list, which outlines everything that is held within the bag. The leather closure strap shows wear and some signs of separation where the strap meets the lid, though it still functions as intended. The shoulder straps are affixes to the back via the attached buckles and is in good condition with no signs of any rips or tears. The stitching present on the pouch is in great shape with no signs of any missing, pulling, or torn threads.
