Description
4/24/26 - This is a Colt Pocket Navy Model Cartridge Conversion Revolver in .38 Rimfire, made in 1861 in Hartford, Connecticut. There were about 10,000 of these made using existing percussion revolvers or parts and manufacturing new components to accept cartridges. The factory conversion of Colt’s percussion line coincided with the expiration of the S&W owned Rollin White Patent, from which Smith & Wesson benefitted greatly as they dominated the market for cartridge revolvers for over a decade. This one is all matching (except for the barrel wedge, which is un-numbered) and has a "36 Cal" marking on the web of the trigger guard. It has a nickeled finish and is in much better condition than many you'll see. There is noticeable spotty oxidation throughout and some areas of pin-pricking. The cylinder scene shows roughly 75% visibility. The screws on the butt of the frame and just in front of the trigger guard stick out above flush. The bore has good rifling, but there is noticeable pitting and rust throughout. Fully functional. No FFL required.
