3/23/26 - This is a nice example of a factory-nickeled Colt Official Police revolver from 1947. All matching and issued to the Detroit Police Department, as evidenced by the marking on the back strap. There is also a "No. 8696" police inventory number on the butt of the frame. It has retained roughly 75-80% of its finish. The majority of the actual finish loss is on the grip straps, where there is noticeable patina. Some freckling on both sides of the frame. Fitted with noticeably worn checkered wood grips. Very nice bore with good rifling. Comes with a modern Detroit Police patch.
