Description
3/29/23 - This is a nice example of the iconic 16-gauge Parker Brothers Model 1874 lifter double barreled shotgun. The barrel lug is serialized and matching with the underside of the forearm. While there isn't a lot of actual finish loss, the Damascus steel barrels do show some discoloration and brown patina throughout. There is also finish loss on the trigger guard, and some spotty wear and discoloration on the action, sideplates, and butt plate. The wood furniture is in good overall condition, with a few dings and scratches here and there, and one more noticeable scratch on the left side of the butt stock. The barrel rib is marked ÄúParker Bros makers Meriden Conn Plain Twist.Äù The side plates are marked "PARKER BROS," and there are small patent markings on the underside of the frame. The grip stock and forearm are smooth with a small initial shield on the wrist just behind the upper tang and a flat buttplate. Minor pitting in the bores throughout.Specifications
