Description
6/16/26 - This is a pre-war commercial Mauser C96, manufactured in 1905 and chambered in 7.63mm Mauser. It is all matching and "Crown U" proofed. It comes with a period-correct but mismatched wood stock - hairline crack on the underside. The gun's original finish rates about 93%. There is general high edge wear, muzzle wear, and some spotty wear along the underside of the barrel. There is some light pitting around the muzzle, noticeable brown patina on the grip straps, and some areas of freckling, most obvious on both sides and the front edge of the frame. Surface rust under the grip panels. Fitted with matching-numbered wood grips - the initials "JD" are carved on the left side. The rifling in the bore is almost completely worn with obvious surface oxidation and pitting throughout.
