SOLD - Quality Hardware M1 Carbine With M3 Infrared Sniper Scope

2/12/21 - This is an excellent Quality Hardware M1 carbine from 1943 that has been fitted with a rare T3 infrared sniper scope rig. These scopes were originally manufactured in mid to late 1944, employed in very limited numbers during WWII with almost all of them being used during the Korean war. These infrared scopes (the M2 and M3) were the first true night vision scopes used by the U.S. Army, that eventually lead to the later "Starlight" scope developed during the Vietnam war. The M1 Carbine as noted was manufactured by the Quality Hardware company that has the standard receiver markings with Underwood barrel that is dated to July of 1943. Stock is SCB marked in the sling well, with AAP arsenal stamp on left side. An original flash hider is included. The rear sight has been removed and the carbine is now fitted with an original M3 scope mounting bar on top of the receiver, which is fitted with a Korean war era M3 infrared sniper scope. The right side of the scope is fitted with a small nomenclature plate marked: "CORPS OF ENGINEERS U.S. ARMY/TELESCOPE/SNIPERSCOPE INFRARED/20,000 VOLTS/CAPEHART-FARNSWORTH CORP./FORT WAYNE IND." The listing includes the original canvas case, hard carry case, battery sets, etc. A rare find and in excellent condition!
