Description
4/22/26 - This is a 1908 DWM Bulgarian contract Luger pistol. There were exactly 10,000 of these pistols ordered by Bulgaria in the 1908-10 time frame. These saw heavy use in both WWI and WW2; having been rebuilt at least once or twice by DWM. After WW2 most of them were captured by the Russians. The chamber is marked with the DWM scroll monogram and has a Bulgarian Crest on top of the front toggle. The right side of the barrel extension is stamped with a single "Bulgarian Rampant Lion" acceptance/proof mark. The lower safety lever area is marked "FIRE" in Cyrillic lettering. This one is all matching and has retained roughly 85% of its bluing. There are areas of wear on the side plate, side rails, and along the left side of the barrel (most of those areas also show brown patina). Areas of dulling and light brown patina on the grip straps. Fitted with matching-numbered wood grips and comes with a mismatched WWI-era magazine. The bore shows noticeable pin-pricking throughout. Lanyard loop on the base of the frame.
