Description
8/26/26 - This is a rare 1908 First Issue DWM military Luger with a "B. II. 3." unit marking on the front strap. The unit marking denotes the high command of the Bavarian army - one of only 4 reported. The seller claims this gun was captured by a Canadian soldier in WWI and remained in the family ever since. There were only 25,000 1st issue examples produced, and roughly 6,000 were unit marked, so this is an interesting piece with a rich history. The first issue Lugers were the first military produced Lugers in 9mm, as this was one of the most requested changes in response to the earlier 1902 and 1906 models. The pistol is all matching and original and has retained about 94% of its original bluing. There is general high edge wear, muzzle wear, and some light freckling on the grip straps. Fitted with minty un-numbered checkered wood grips. Excellent, shiny bore with strong rifling. It comes as a rig with a tan leather holster and one blank bottom magazine.
