Description
10/13/25 - This is a rare 1908 First Issue DWM military Luger. There were only 25,000 1st issue examples produced, so this is an interesting piece with a rich history. The first issue Lugers were the first military produced Lugers in 9mm, as this was one of the most requested changes in response to the earlier 1902 and 1906 models. It correctly has no stock lug on the back strap, and it originally had no hold open. However, a hold open was added later by the Erfurt arsenal - you can see it on the right side of the frame with a tiny Erfurt proof. The gun was likely re-blued at the arsenal when it was re-worked. Very little actual finish loss, but there is some wear around the muzzle, on some of the high edges, and at the base of the front strap. Comes with a mismatched magazine that was numbered at an arsenal. Fitted with excellent un-numbered grips. Very nice bore - great rifling with just very minor frosting in the grooves.
