Description
8/25/26 - This is a very nice example of a DWM Luger issued to the Imperial German military in 1916. It is all matching with the proper Imperial military acceptance proofs. This particular gun was issued to a Machine Gun unit, as evidenced by the rare "1.M.G.SS.K.117.J.D." Machine Gun unit marking on the front strap. It was later reworked and issued to the German police force, as evidenced by the added police sear safety. The gun has what we believe to be an old arsenal re-blued finish. The finish loss is mostly on the side plate, but there is also general minor high edge wear, a couple of light scratches and one small ding around the side plate, light freckling on the barrel and on the grip straps, and some oxidation around the right side of the muzzle. Fitted with excellent matching-numbered wood grips and comes with a mismatched WW2-era magazine. The bore has good rifling, but there is pin-pricking throughout.
