8/13/26 - This is a rare Argentine Navy contract Colt Government Model from 1927. In the mid-1920s, the Argentine navy placed three consecutive orders for a total of 306 pistols with two different series of issue numbers. 78 Pistols in 1924, in the range C140700-C140900. 78 Pistols in 1925, in the range C144100-C145300. The remaining 150 pistols were marked "REPUBLICA ARGENTINA/ARMADA NACIONAL" on the right side of the slide and the Argentine crest on the top of the slide. 150 Pistols in 1927 in the range C154600-C155000. The slide and frame of this gun are mismatched, and the slide is numbered 154869. So this one falls in the last range. The barrel is also numbered 764 and mismatched to the gun. The gun has a parkerized finish that rates about 95-96%. There is general high edge / muzzle wear and noticeable scratches and scuffs on much of the gun. Fitted with minty checkered wood grips and comes with an unmarked magazine. The rifling in the bore is mostly worn with obvious surface oxidation throughout.
