Description
10/2/26 - This is a rare Krieghoff Luger issued to the Luftwaffe in 1936, with the full "1936" date on the chamber rather than the two-digit "36" date. It is one of only 2,500 or so produced with a 1936 chamber date, and examples this nice are seldom offered. The gun is all matching and has the proper Krieghoff "Eagle L 2" Luftwaffe acceptance proofs on the right side of the receiver. It comes with a near-matching magazine, numbered 6682 and properly "Eagle L 2" Krieghoff proofed. The original bluing rates about 95%, with very minor general high edge wear, minor muzzle wear, an area of light scratchy wear on the right side of the barrel, and some very minor dulling on the grip straps. Attractive straw-colored small parts. Fitted with excellent period-correct reddish bakelite Krieghoff grips. Minty bore. A sharp, all-matching 1936 Krieghoff with a magazine just 20 numbers off from the gun.
