Description
5/25/20 - This is a scarce Walther P.38, marked 'ac 40' on slide, one of only ~12,000 produced. This is a lower production total than early zero series Walthers or first-year production Mauser byf 42's. The original finish rates at about 60% with uniform wear throughout, but also minor freckling on the edges of the slide. The left side of the slide also shows a wear pattern that looks like a series of scratches, but it is not textured there. One of the matching numbered magazines remains with the gun, and is correct and original. The original matching numbered grips are also present, and all small parts correctly have the Walther inspection stamp. Bore shows some frost throughout but no major defect. The de-cocker does not work properly, which is common for these early P.38s, but does work as a safety.Specifications
