Description
5/13/26 - This is a rare and potentially somewhat historic Colt Match Target Woodsman from 1938. It's a first year production that was shipped to the Chief of the Philippines Army via the Squires, Bingham Company in Manila. We could not find much information regarding this type of order by the Philippine's Army but this pistol was one of four in the shipment. It's the early "bullseye" variation with original elephant ear grips. The pistol is in near mint condition with a couple minor spots of oxidation but 99% of the original bluing present. Oddly, the barrel on this pistol is bulged even though the pistol appears nearly unfired. The grips are in excellent condition with no notable defects. The pistol has the correct, early mag which is marked 'Match Target Model' on the base. The listing includes the Colt archive letter, and a beautiful Colt presentation case. Perhaps a singularly unique, highly collectible Colt with an interesting history!
