7/28/21 - This is a very nice example of a rare Winchester Model 1886 Deluxe Short Rifle in .50 express. It has gorgeous 3x deluxe checkered wood with all of its original piano varnish. It has a 24in half octagon barrel, extra shot 1/2 mag, and shotgun butt. The rifle started out as a 45-90 deluxe as the factory letter states, but went back to the factory in 1907 and came back in .50 express with no provision for a barrel rear sight and had a Lyman receiver sight installed in its place as well. The rifle has been in this configuration since 1907, and has remained untouched in original condition since then. It is in excellent condition overall with 80-85% blue remaining, with most of the wear on the underside of the receiver, but visible surface oxidation on each side as well. Beautiful bore, shiny with strong rifling.
