Description

8/26/26 - The Dutch East Indies M.11 Luger was adopted in 1911 for the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army (KNIL) and is essentially a Dutch-contract 9mm Model 1906-pattern Luger with a 4-inch barrel, grip safety, and Dutch “RUST” safety and “GELADEN” extractor markings. This example is from the final 1928 DWM/BKIW contract, identifiable by its distinctive circle-KL marking, with approximately 3,820 pistols produced in the 10182–14001 serial range. It also retains a desirable brass KNIL unit/property plate marked “A. II Vd 6,” indicating military inventory or unit assignment, with “6” representing the individual weapon number. All numbered parts are matching, but the safety lever and hold open are not numbered. It has retained roughly 75-80% of its original finish. The actual finish loss is concentrated mostly on the grip straps, on the side plate, and along the barrel, but there is obvious spotty patina/oxidation on much of the gun. The grips are matching-numbered to the gun with the full serial. There is a repaired crack on the right side, only visible from the inside. Comes with a period-correct magazine that has a chipped base that is reinforced with a thin metal strip. The rifling in the bore is fairly worn with noticeable light pitting throughout.
