Description
3/6/26 - This is a nice example of a rare, transitional, early Nazi Mauser Model 1914/34 issued to the Kriegsmarine in the 1930's. It is all matching, has the proper early Nazi "Eagle M" navy marking on the left side of the frame, and has an "O.858" navy property marking on the front strap. This is a rare variation, one of only about 500 made. This particular gun is featured and pictured on Page 164 of Jan Still's "Axis Pistols" book. It comes as a rig with a rare navy-marked holster and two matching-numbered magazines. We believe the magazines are period-correct, but the numbering is not original (force-matched). Neither magazine is pictured or mentioned in Axis Pistols. The gun is also photographed in the book with a wood grip - it now has a transitional black phenolic grip (correct for this variation but may not be original to the gun). The gun's original finish rates roughly 85% with general high edge wear, muzzle wear, some light spotty discoloration along the left side of the gun, and finish loss on the front strap. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is minor pitting throughout.
