5/18/26 - This is an early Mauser M1910 that is referred to as the 'sidelatch' variant, due to the obvious design feature on left side of the frame. There were only about 15,000 of this variation produced, and this example is in the proper serial range. It is all matching and "Double Crown U" proofed. It also has a "Von Lengerke & Detmold New York" retailer marking on the right side of the slide. VL&D was a prominent New York outfitter known for selling high-end sporting arms in the early 20th century. The finish rates about 95%. And while there is very little actual finish loss, there are a few small dots of oxidation and tiny pitting on both sides of the slide. Fitted with a period-correct wood grip (some minor bruises and scratches throughout) and comes with one nickeled magazine. Excellent, shiny bore.
