Rare Erma Erfurt Police Eagle/L .22lr Luger Conversion Kit - Mismatched Magazine

Description

10/19/26 - For sale is a very nice example of a Luger .22lr conversion kit manufactured by Erma Erfurt in 1938 for German police training. This kit has a number-matching toggle and barrel (SN 6293), and a very close numbered magazine (SN 6286). One the left side of the toggle, it bears a light Eagle/L mark, stating that this kit was police issued. These kits were often used for training purposes as it was a cheaper cartridge and easier to control as they learned the firearms. The toggle is in great shape with smooth action and minimal wear. The only present finish loss on the toggle is from the mechanical interaction with the firearm, as well as some high-edge wear on the toggle knobs. The barrel is in excellent shape with a mint bore and strong rifling. The base of the barrel is marked "5.41mm", a Crown/B, a Crown/U, and "6293". The end of the barrel is threaded and comes with the original thread protectors. The magazine is in great shape with clear serialization on the baseplate. The spring travel is smooth and fully functional. The entire kit comes in the original Erma wooden case, which bears an Eagle/L and "1938" on the underside of the lid. The latch on the front of the wooden case is fully functional with a tight hold and no play. The exterior of the wooden case shows some blemishes from handling but no structural damage or missing wood.
