Description
9/25/25 - This is a rare Party Leader Walther PPK rig from 1938. The serial number dates it to 1938, and is in the correct range for the issuance of the Party Leader "Honor" Grip. It is all matching and has retained about 94-95% of its original high polish bluing. Minor high edge and muzzle wear and some light wear along the round edge of the right side of the slide. Overall, the grip is in very nice condition, but there are a couple of very faint repaired cracks - barely visible with the naked eye. It comes as a rig with an original Party Leader Akah holster. The outside of the holster has a crisp, clear Party Leader Eagle marking, and the inside has two Nazi ink stamps. Also, handwritten on the inside is the name and serial number of an American GI, likely the soldier who captured it. Comes with one period-correct finger extension magazine. Mint bore.
_____
The Walther PPK with Party Leader Grips was the "Honor Weapon of the Political Leaders". The Hoheitsabzeichen or High Insignia is the Eagle over Swastika found on either side of the grips where the Walther banner is normally located. The person entitled to wear the honor weapons that were awarded them by the Fuhrer were the Political Leaders of the national, regional and district territories, as well as leaders of local and support units. The persons who wore the honor weapon had their authorizations listed in the district personnel offices, and had to have in their possession a weapons permit issued by the police, which was obtained through official channels. These rare pistols were estimated to number around 3,500, and are widely faked, but this one is guaranteed original.
