Rare Japanese Type 99 Arisaka 4x Scope and Case - Tokyo Shibaura Electric Co.

9/14/26 - For sale is a rare WWII-era Japanese Type 99 4x scope that was manufactured by the Tokyo Shibaura Electric Company (modern day Toshiba). This scope also comes with the original case, though the lid is detached from the body of the case. The original black finish on this scope is in great shape with very minimal loss. There are some hints of high-edge wear and the channel scratches from the mounting latch arm. Most of the dings on the body are on the right side of the scope, and there is scratching towards the end of the scope on the manufacturers mark. These scratches are from the screw inside of the case that holds the wooden bracket being cracked so the screw head has marked the scope. Above the maker's mark is the scope multiplier (4x7), and below the mark is the serial number (No. 9083). The eyepiece still has the rubberized cover, though it has become rigid and fragile, but is still present. The pressure plate on the scope mount is serialized 2476, and the mount itself is stamped "F88". The reticle in the scope is clear with crisp lines. The case has retained a majority of its original exterior coating. Most of the stitching on the case has remained and is in great shape. The only missing stitches are on the back of the holster (lid attachment and belt loop), and the stitching to adhere the front strap to the lid (front strap is not included). Toward the opening of the holster, one of the three screws is missing which hold a wooden bracket to the top to align the scope while in the case (The middle screw is what caused the scratching on the scope). Overall the case is still in great functional and structural shape.
