Description
6/26/26 - This is a scarce Kriegsmarine Luger holster manufactured in 1939 by Hans Romer of Neu-Ulm, and issued to the German Navy during WWII. The reverse leather is maker marked “HANS RÖMER / NEU-ULM / 1939” with a “WaA455” military proof, and below that is the Kriegsmarine eagle/M stamp. The Kriegsmarine marking shows an artifact of another strike, likely from a double stamp. The holster is in great overall condition, as is the dark brown exterior leather, with light surface wrinkling and mild age-related cracking along the top of the top flap, minor surface wear here and there scattered on the exterior leather, and light areas of wear near the toe, along the body edges, belt loops, and strap. The left side of the body shows a few areas of discoloration. The interior leather is excellent and well-maintained, with a visible but difficult to distinguish ink stamp. The magazine compartment is slightly distressed, with one loose/torn stitch at very top. The left belt loop has a series of horizontally arranged pin-size holes, and there are a couple of replaced stitches on the left belt loop, indicative of an old period repair. No obvious non-period stitching is visible.
