Description
5/22/26 - From Tom Whiteman's personal collection, this is a rare, late-war "Armorer's Replacement" Walther. One of only ~3,000 produced, these firearms earned their title from the need to mix and match parts from various makers in order to supply urgently needed pistols to German troops. This particular P.38 has a Walther frame, while it bears a Mauser slide and barrel. Another commonality with these armorer replacements is the lack of serial number present on the gun. This Walther has retained almost all of its original finish, with only very minor hints of high-edge wear. The bore is bright with a mirrored finish, and crisp rifling throughout. This firearm comes fitted with period-correct brown particle bakelite grip panels with no signs of chips or cracks. Comes with an 'ac' marked P.38 magazine. Fully functional, including de-cocker.
The purchase of this firearm will come with a Certificate of Authenticity from Tom Whiteman stating that this is from his personal collection.
