Rare, Matching Mauser (S/42) K98k w/ M1884/98 Bayonet & DAK Frog - Afrika Korps Issued

07/28/26 - For sale is a Mauser (S/42) K98k made in 1937 that was issued to the German Afrika Korps during WW2. The rifle retains some of its original bluing but is fading to a grey-blue color with some bare metal showing through. There are some patches of surface tarnish & Patina. The stock is overall in great shape without any cracks or breaks. Bore is bright with great rifling. The side of the buttstock has an ID stock disk installed after being captured by the British. Around it the waffenamts are visible as well as stamped AA for Alexandria Arsenal. The rifle comes with a 3rd pattern M1884/98 Bayonet made by E.u.F. Horster (S/155) in 1937. The blade has a nice blued finish with some wear on the sides. The grips are in good condition with no cracks or breaks. The spine is stamped 37. The scabbard shows heavy finish loss and tarnish. The bayonet and scabbard match each other. The scabbard is in a DAK canvas holster. Some stitching wear around the female end of the securing loop. Overall, in great condition. Also included is an original muzzle cover and sling. Some cracking on the leather surface at the sling loop.
