Description
8/1/23 - This is an original and matching example of the iconic MP40 submachine gun, as made by Haenel in 1942. The MP-40 was the successor to the MP-38 model. Both were intended to be compact bust fire power weapons especially suited for dismounted vehicle troops but was issued in ever increasing numbers to troops of all kinds. It is slow firing, comfortable to shoot, durable, with readily available parts. This particular example is all matching numbers throughout, including the internals. The only negative is that the barrel or resting bar is a replacement, though this does not impact the functionality of the weapon at all. The original finish is very nice, with thinning on the mag housing and more intermixed on the receiver and barrel but no pitting. Some initials are lightly scratched into the right side of the stock though. WaA254 proofs found all over this one. Shoulder stock employs properly and quite tight when extended. Strong, shiny bore with only minor signs of use. Receiver is '42 dated with 'fxo' maker code. The listing includes a total of three magazines, as well as two original loaders. This weapon is fully transferable on ATF form 3 or form 4 as C&R eligible.Specifications
