Description
5/18/26 - This is a very nice example of a rare Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1942. It is a first-year Mauser production, where only 19,000 of these were made, making it only slightly more common than the zero series or Nazi-marked svw 45's. This one is matching and has the proper "Eagle 135" military proofs. It comes as a rig with one "Eagle 135" marked Mauser magazine, one "Eagle 359" marked Walther magazine, and a scarce hard shell holster (fairly worn condition). The back of the holster is waffen proofed and has an extremely light Oak Leaf 9 Bearskin markers mark - only visible under certain light. The gun itself has retained about 90% of its characteristic dusty blue finish. There is muzzle wear, minor high edge wear, some very light spotty wear along the right side of the slide, and minor thinning on the front strap. Fitted with blackish-brown bakelite grips. The bore has good rifling, but there is noticeable surface oxidation throughout. De-cocker is functional.
