Description
10/6/26 - This is a rare, minty Kongsberg Model 1914, the Norwegian-made version of the Colt 1911 built under license from Colt. This gun comes to us from the Phil Schreier collection. Phil is a respected authority whose decades of work helped shape the understanding of American firearms history. According to research, this is the very last serial number known. It is completely matching, dated 1988 on the right side of the slide, and has an import mark on the right side of the frame. The gun has retained nearly all of its matte black finish, with a small area of very light oxidation on the left side of the slide and an area of plum-colored discoloration on the right side of the frame. Fitted with correct black dyed checkered wood grips and comes with a correct lanyard loop magazine (the hold open does not work properly with this magazine). Minty bore with strong rifling. A remarkable piece of Kongsberg history with notable provenance.
