Description
1/25/26 - This is a rare Mauser Standard Modell rifle issued to the Deutsches Reichspost (DRP) in 1933. It is nitro-proofed, all matching, and has a "DRP 600162" stamp on the butt stock. The DRP was the state-run postal, telegraph, and telecommunications service of Germany during World War II. Beyond handling civilian mail, it played a key logistical role for the Nazi regime, managing military correspondence, field post coordination, and communications infrastructure across the Reich and occupied territories. The DRP operated under strict state control, with its personnel, vehicles, and facilities often marked with distinctive Reichspost insignia, making it an integral—though largely administrative—component of Germany’s wartime apparatus. This particular gun is in minty condition overall and has retained about 96-97% of its original high polish blued finish. There is just minor high edge wear and some dings/handling marks on the barrel bands (likely from someone trying to remove them). The wood furniture is very nice overall with just minor dings and scratches. There is one more noticeable ding on the left side of the butt stock. No major damage. Mint bore. Comes with a period-correct sling, cleaning rod, and muzzle cap that is marked with the "Mauser" banner on the front edge.
