SOLD - Rare, Minty Party Leader Walther PPK (962050 - 26090)

7/25/23 - This is is a stunning example of a rare Nazi Party Leader Walther PPK. It is all matching and has retained about 99% of its original high polish bluing with just a hint of wear around the muzzle. The Party Leader grip is minty with no chips or cracks - just a few very tiny handling marks here and there. Comes with a period-correct brown finger extension magazine. The bore is mint. The serial number dates the gun to 1937, which is not in the most commonly accepted serial range of a 1938-39 manufactured pistol. The pistol and grip are independently 100% original, but we can't say with any certainty that this pistol was ordered with this grip on it in 1937. The Walther PPK with Party Leader Grips was the "Honor Weapon of the Political Leaders". The Hoheitsabzeichen or High Insignia is the Eagle over Swastika found on either side of the grips where the Walther banner is normally located. The person entitled to wear the honor weapons that were awarded them by the Fuhrer were the Political Leaders of the national, regional and district territories, as well as leaders of local and support units. The persons who wore the honor weapon had their authorizations listed in the district personnel offices, and had to have in their possession a weapons permit issued by the police, which was obtained through official channels. These rare pistols were estimated to number around 3,500.
