Description
3/12/26 - This is a rare Nazi-Contract Spanish Astra Model 400 (1921). There were only ~6,000 Astra 400's produced for the Nazi contract, all in 1941, as evidenced by the Awschalom factory letter which detailed the serial range for this contract. This Astra has retained about 93% of the original finish. Most of the finish loss exists as high-edge wear; primarily on the slide rails and on the rear of the slide near the serrations. This firearm also has some muzzle wear and some light freckling on the front strap. There are also hints of scarce pin pricking on the slide. This Astra is fitted with period-correct wood grip panels that have no signs of chips or cracks. The bore is bright with strong rifling, but does show some signs of use. This Astra comes with two period-correct Astra branded magazines, as well as a well-kept Ersatz holster. Ersatz holsters were made from layers of recycled paper at the end of WW2 as supplies for the Germans ran low. The leather/paper is very strong and firm and in great condition.
