Description
06/11/2024 - For sale is a rare Pre-Ban Egyptian Maadi ARM rifle. These AKM are considered the closest to an original Russian AKM that can be purchased in the US. During the Cold War, Egypt was becoming friendly with the USSR and USSR would give their AKM manufacturing equipment with instructors to the Egyptian Government. Egypt would have a falling out with the USSR but kept the equipment and manufactured for both the military and civilian market. About 2000 of these rifles were imported into the US market until the 1989 import ban.
¬
This rifle is in great condition overall but the original black, glossy enamel finish has been stripped down to the phosphate finish. The original finish on these AKs was a phosphate base layer with a glossy enamel paint baked on. The laminate furniture is correct for a Maadi and in good condition with some wear. The bore is mirror bright and excellent. The rifle comes with one 30-round unmarked AKM magazine.
