Description
3/24/26 - This is a rare Remington UMC 1911. Of the three manufacturers of accepted U.S. Military 1911 pistols, the Remington-UMC is the least common with only ~21,000 produced. It has the proper E.E.C. inspectors marking on the left side of the frame (very faint). Major Edmond E. Chapman was responsible for the entire Rem-UMC production. All the markings on the gun are faint, because it has been refinished and buffed. This gun has been modified with several upgraded parts, including the front and rear sights. The barrel is a modern Colt replacement. The front strap has been stippled. Replaced WW2-era reddish plastic grips and comes with a more modern Colt magazine. The majority of the finish loss is along both sides of the slide. Mint bore.
