Description
3/20/26 - This is a rare Remington UMC 1911 issued to the US Army in 1919. Of the three manufacturers of U.S. Military 1911 pistols, the Remington-UMC is the least common with only ~21,000 produced. This pistol has the proper E.E.C. inspectors marking on the left side of the frame. Major Edmond E. Chapman was responsible for the entire Rem-UMC production. Below his mark is a faint "Eagle Head" proof. This particular example has a mismatched Colt slide and a more modern replacement barrel. The gun has retained roughly 65-70% of its dull finish. There is noticeable finish loss and spotty patina throughout, but it is concentrated mostly toward the front end of the slide and on the grip straps. Fitted with very nice checkered wood grips and comes with a two-tone magazine. Most of the bore is shiny with strong rifling, but there are a couple of areas of minor frosting.
