Description
3/20/26 - This is a rare Remington UMC 1911. Of the three manufacturers of accepted U.S. Military 1911 pistols, the Remington-UMC is the least common with only ~21,000 produced. It has the proper E.E.C. inspectors marking on the left side of the frame. Major Edmond E. Chapman was responsible for the entire Rem-UMC production. Below his mark is an "Eagle Head E28" proof. Correct barrel with a "P" in the ejection port. The gun has lost most of its original bluing with honest wear and spotty brown patina throughout. Fitted with nice period-correct checkered wood grips - there is some rounding around the bottom edges and one small hole on the left side. Comes with a proper two-tone magazine. The bore has great rifling, but there is some frosting in the grooves.
