Description
5/1/26 - This is a rare Remington UMC 1911. Of the three manufacturers of accepted U.S. Military 1911 pistols, the Remington-UMC is the least common with only ~21,000 produced. It has the proper E.E.C. inspectors marking on the left side of the frame. Major Edmond E. Chapman was responsible for the entire Rem-UMC production. Below his mark is an "Eagle Head E28" proof. There is an "AA" marking on the frame, indicating this gun was reworked at the Augusta arsenal. It has an "H P" Colt barrel. The gun has been refinished - the frame is parkerized, and the slide is blued. There is some thinning on the grip safety, light surface scuffs and scratches here and there on the frame, and heavy pitting under the bluing on the left side of the slide. Fitted with replaced checkered wood grips. Comes with a WW2-era "R" marked magazine. The bore has great rifling in general, but there is a small area of noticeable pitting.
